We’re crowd funding the Play to Learn Lab

Ever thought about changing the landscape of South African education? Now is your chance!


Yesterday saw the launch of our The Play to Lean Lab crowd funding campaign on Thundafund. We are sharing this project with everybody on the internet in the hope to raise at least R40 000 to fit out our lab with PLOXXI computers.

Crowd funding is a relatively new model for financing initiatives which aims to cut out the need for large investors. Instead, a small amount of money is collected from a crowd of people who want to see the project succeed. We’re appealing to educators, the gaming industry, township upliftment stakeholders, friends, family and YOU to help this project reach its goal. Thundafund operates on an all or nothing model. This means that we will only receive the funding if we reach our first milestone of R40 000 within the 45 day period.

In return for we’re offering you some really fun rewards. Starting off with high-5s and hand written thank-you letters from the kids at Masiphumelele Primary school, up to beautifully designed PLOXXI computers. And for the grand prize, we will fly you, The Legendary Hero, to Cape Town from anywhere in South Africa. Here the Learning Innovation Design Lab Team you will treat you to an exciting weekend in the Mother City where you will embark on an Innovation and Design Tour, join us for sun downers and of course, get to experience the Play to Learn Lab First hand.
